The Arctic is Changing. People Are Living Through It.

No Child Should Feel Forgotten

Far above the Arctic Circle, children are growing up on the front lines of a rapidly changing world.

As the Arctic warms and traditional ways of life face new challenges, communities are navigating isolation, mental health struggles, and limited opportunities.

Yet their stories are rarely heard.

Hearts in the Ice exists to change that.

The Arctic Is Not Just Ice

The Arctic is more than ice and wilderness.

It is home to Indigenous peoples, families, and children with dreams and ambitions like any other.

Yet many communities face isolation, mental health challenges, educational barriers, and the realities of a rapidly changing climate.

The future of the Arctic depends on supporting the people who call it home.

Preserve Voices, Cultures, and Stories

The Arctic is home to rich Indigenous cultures and traditions that deserve to be seen, heard, and celebrated. Your contribution helps document and share stories from Arctic communities, ensuring that local voices remain at the center of conversations about the future of the North.

Strengthen Communities and Wellbeing

Many Arctic communities face challenges related to isolation, rapid environmental change, and mental health. Funding helps Hearts in the Ice support initiatives that promote resilience, connection, hope, and wellbeing among children, youth, and families living in some of the world's most remote regions.

Empower Arctic Youth Through Education

Your support helps bring Arctic stories into classrooms around the world while creating educational opportunities for young people living in northern communities. By fostering understanding and connection, we help inspire the next generation to become informed global citizens and future leaders.

Supporting Science at the Frontlines of Arctic Change

“We are so thrilled Hearts In The Ice are bringing awareness to the poles
and have partnered as Citizen Scientists with FjordPhyto! The polar regions are dynamic and changing fast. These changes affect the biology of the ecosystem, starting with the food source – phytoplankton.”

Allison Cusick, FjordPhyto Project
