About Polheim

The essence of Polheim is to inspire action and understanding about the fragility of the Arctic and its global significance. The Arctic is warming at unprecedented rates, and Polheim serves as a platform to share firsthand observations, data, and stories about these changes. Through collaborations with scientists, educators, and organizations, Hilde uses this project to amplify the message that what happens in the Arctic doesn’t stay in the Arctic—it impacts the entire planet.

Polheim reflects Hilde’s deep commitment to bridging the gap between scientific research and public awareness, fostering a global sense of responsibility for these remote yet crucial ecosystems. Whether through citizen science, educational outreach, or her vivid storytelling, Polheim is a call to action to preserve and protect the Arctic for future generations.

In The Heart Of Climate Change

Positioned in one of the planet's most climate-sensitive regions, Polheim gathers firsthand data on the dramatic transformations happening in this icy frontier.

From monitoring shrinking glaciers and melting sea ice to tracking wildlife behavior and shifting weather patterns, the insights collected at Polheim are crucial for scientists and policymakers alike.

By sharing real-world observations of the Arctic’s fragility, it connects the dots between local changes and their global implications. The team at Polheim collaborates with international organizations, turning their findings into actionable knowledge for protecting the planet.

Our Vision For Polheim

At Polheim, our vision is to be a beacon of inspiration and action for Arctic sustainability and climate awareness. We aim to create a vibrant communication platform that bridges science, art, and culture, fostering a deeper understanding of the Arctic's vital role in the global ecosystem.

Polheim aspires to:

  • Empower local and global communities with knowledge about the Arctic’s rapid climate changes.
  • Provide a space for collaboration between researchers, indigenous knowledge bearers, and leaders committed to sustainability.
  • Inspire action through storytelling, workshops, and innovative events that connect hearts and minds.

By uniting people and ideas, we hope to ensure that the Arctic, one of the planet's most fragile and significant regions, remains a place of life, learning, and shared responsibility for generations to come.
