What We Do

The team of Sunniva Sorby and Hilde Falun Strom created Hearts in the Ice to deepen our understanding of climate change and how powerful individual action can be.

We are a Global movement of climate ambassadors dedicated to promoting social engagement and measurable action around key polar issues.

We inspire, connect, educate, and ignite action on pressing Climate Change issues.

As citizens scientists we serve as the bridge between climate science and the public to facilitate understanding around facts and data so that YOU can take personal action.

As collaborators with partners we educate and host land and ship based climate summits talks & workshops to foster accountability metrics for sustainable change.

We have reached over 200,000 students as of August 2024 from around the world through our education outreach and twice monthly video calls with global experts, hosted by Exploring by the Seat of your Pants.

 How We Do This

We Educate– via free monthly hosted video calls connecting experts and youth around the world.

We Inform– through our partnerships by sharing solutions and ideas that are sustainable, measurable and visionary.

We Inspire– through our storytelling, social media, blog content and imagery to foster hope

We Connect– through hosted climate summits joining our community of ambassadors and our diverse group of stakeholders and organizations working to protect the polar regions and our natural world.

We Act– As 1% for the Planet members: we show up and speak out at industry events, Arctic and Antarctic Assemblies and United Nations Climate Conferences.
